Is it worth upgrading wooden windows in an old home?

This is a single-family residence built in 1928 but renovated a few times. Windows look original because they are wooden. They are starting to get stuck in the frame due to warping and other issues over time. Does upgrading windows add value to the house if I plan to re-sell? This home is in San Francisco Bay Area where home prices are generally through the roof.

Answer:
Yes, it will add value since the house is already having upgrades done to it. Heating is not an issue (LOL) but I assume AC probably is? Even in beautiful SF you must get some bad weather once in a while and better sealing windows will help. You don't say which direction your windows face, but the new energy-efficient windows will keep the sun from overheating the house as much, also. If you are any kind of a handy person, read up on it and try to do it yourself. It really is not that hard and will save you a tremendous amount of installation money. The most important thing is to make sure you get all of your measurements absolutely correct, since especially in older houses, windows are not standard sizes and you will probably need to special order. Good luck.
