Any tips on painting a wooden door?
I'm redoing a room in my house, and I want the trim to be white instead of it's natural wood. Does anyone have any tips so that the paint won't look gluey and thick?
Answer: If it was varnished, you need to lightly sand it, all over. Wipe it clean with a soft cloth. Prime with KILZ. Wait the recommended time, usually about an hour, then paint. You will need at least 2 coats. Use light coats so that it can dry well. Sanding is the key, and prime.
That is how we do it and it stays great. No peeling if you use the primer first.
